Po-Wei Ger

Po-Wei Ger, piano (Tamsui, Taiwan), graduated with his Masters from the Yale School of Music in 2021 under the guidance of Melvin Chen. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at the Manhattan School of Music, where he is a student of Solomon Mikowsky. He has studied with Jia-li Shu and Ming-Hui Lin, and collaborated with orchestras including the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra and the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra. In April 2021, Po-Wei won the 2nd Prize, the Chamber Music Prize, and the Audience Prize at the Premio Jaén competition in Spain. An avid chamber musician, Po-Wei and his friends Chao-Chih Chen and Tzu-Wei Huang formed the clarinet trio Trio Astralis, which won the Youth Chamber Music Program of the Eslite Bookstore, Taiwan’s leading bookstore chain. He has participated in the Norfolk Chamber Festival and Taos School of Music, and will return to Putney this summer for his second year at Yellow Barn. Previous Yellow Barn musician (2023)
