Phoebe Liu

Phoebe Liu, violin (Atlanta, Georgia), is a student at Yale University, studying under Kyung Yu. She has performed as a soloist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, the Georgia Philharmonic, the Dekalb Symphony, and the Westminster Chamber Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, she served as concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Curtis Young Artists Summer Program, and she currently plays in the Yale Symphony. Phoebe has attended the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Curtis Music Institute Summerfest Young Artist Program, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute String Quartet Workshop, the Chamber Music Institute at the College of the Holy Cross, and the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Program. She previously studied with Sonja Foster and Keiko Furness and has worked with Robin Scott, Ray Chen, David Kim, Alex Kerr, Robert McDuffie, Steven Copes, David Coucheron, Justin Bruns, Karen Gomyo, and the Muir Quartet, Jupiter Quartet, and Ying Quartet. Phoebe has performed at the Kennedy Center, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, and Spivey Hall. Additionally, she has collaborated with the Piano Guys and Swingle Singers and was a featured musician on 11-Alive NBC. At Yale, she is pursuing a degree in computer science and mathematics.
