Meg Freivogel

Meg Freivogel, violin (Urbana, IL), is a founding member of the renowned Jupiter String Quartet which is Artist-in-Residence at the University of Illinois and concertizes world-wide. She has received many prestigious honors with the quartet, including Grand Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, an Avery Fischer Career Grant, and the Cleveland Quartet Award, among others. The quartet appears regularly in the world's  finest halls and at the country's most prestigious summer music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and School, Bowdoin Music Festival, Madeline Island Music Camp, Music@Menlo, and Yellow Barn. Meg has recorded for Marquis Records, Deutsche Grammaphon, and Azica Records. She is also a founding member of the East Coast Chamber Orchestra (ECCO). In addition to her performing career, she maintains a violin studio at the University of Illinois and regularly gives masterclasses to aspiring musicians world-wide.
