Massimo Martone

Massimo Martone, percussion (Rome, Italy), has been the percussionist of the Junior Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Academy, under the direction of by Antonio Pappano, Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Stefano Bollani, Giovanni Sollima, Andrea Santarsiere, Luigi Marinaro, and Edoardo Giachino. In addition, he attended the Santa Cecilia Conservatory for classical percussion and jazz drums. For the past three summers, he has completed three Percussion Masters in Italy under Edoardo Giachino and a master in Germany with Martin Grubinger. He twice won the Sette Note Romane competition. In addition, he is a member of a group that performs fusion music, including works by Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. Massimo’s teachers are Daniella Ganeva and Kevin Hathway, and he is a scholarship recipient at the Purcell School of London. He also studies piano at the Purcell School and plays the trumpet.
