Juliana Cao

Juliana Cao, violin (Toronto, Canada) began playing the violin at the age of five. In 2019, she was admitted to the Royal Conservatory's Phil & Eli Taylor Academy, where she studied under the tutelage of Marie Berard and had the privilege of performing in masterclasses for renowned violinists including Glenn Dichterow, Ida Kavafian, and Karen Gomyo. During her time at the Taylor Academy, she also developed a love for chamber music, playing in string quartets coached by members of the Cecilia and Afiara Quartets. An avid orchestral player, Juliana has toured across Canada for two summers as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, where she has held the positions of Associate Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin. She has also served as concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, which was coached by and annually performed alongside the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she was accepted to participate in the 2024 Pacific Music Festival Orchestra Academy in Sapporo, Japan. Since fall of 2023, Juliana has been pursuing a B.Mus studying with Violaine Melançon at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal.
