Josephine Chung

Josephine Chung, violin (Sydney, Australia), currently studies at the Curtis Institute of Music under Pamela Frank and Arnold Steinhardt. Previously, she studied with Robin Wilson at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Rising Stars program, where she performed in several string quartets. She made her solo debut with the Guangxi Provincial Symphony Orchestra in China, and performed with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as a finalist in the ANAM Concerto Competition. In addition, she has won the Ku-Ring-Gai Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition, and the National Youth Concerto Competition, and has soloed with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra under Nicholas Milton. She was a semi-finalist in the Junior Section of the Menuhin International Violin Competition, and won the Dorcas McClean Travelling Scholarship. Josephine has participated in the Chamber Music Program of the Sounds Thinking Australia Summer School.
