Darwin Chang

Darwin Chang, violin (Taipei, Taiwan) took up a place at The Yehudi Menuhin School in 2014 where he studied with Diana Galvydyte then Prof. Ning Kam, while receiving weekly chamber music coaching with Prof. Ioan Davis and Dr. David Dolan. Having graduated Menuhin School in 2021, Darwin began his Undergraduate degree at the New England Conservatory, under the tutelage of Donald Weilerstein. During his time at The Menuhin school, Darwin regularly performed a vast repertoire both around London and abroad,  most notably with Joji Hattori and the Menuhin School Orchestra, as well as Lelend Cheng and the Sinfonia Varsovia in the Warsaw Opera House. Keen on collaborative music making, Darwin has performed in venues including the Menuhin Hall, BBC Radio, and King’s Place London alongside pianists Ashley Wass and Charles Owen. Over the years, Darwin has received masterclasses with well-known pedagogues and violinists such as Zakhar Bron, Kryztof Wegrzyn, Anthony Marwood, and Roman Simovic. Given his passion for historically informed performances, Darwin wishes to become a period instrumentalist in the future. Previous Young Artists Program participant (2022)
