Alice Van Leuven

Alice Van Leuven, violin (Brussels, Belgium) played over 70 chamber and solo concerts in her last season, highlights of which include the release in Flagey of the Alfama Quartet’s newest album “so Far so Close,” and a solo role in Belgian composer Frederik Neyrinck’s opera “Kruistocht”. In 2021, Alice was selected as one of the Promising Twenty-somethings of Radio Klara, the Flemish classical music radio station. Her recordings have been broadcast on RbbKultur, France Musique, and Musiq3, and she has appeared on various Belgian television channels. In 2021, Alice was appointed as the new first violinist of the critically acclaimed Alfama Quartet. She was also a founding member of Trio Aries, which won the Supernova Classics chamber music competition in 2020. The trio recently performed in Bozar and at the 2021 Spring Concert of the Royal Palace of Brussels. Their debut album “Awakening” was released in November 2021 to national and international praise. Alice has participated in several renowned international festivals, such as Pacific Music Festival, Festival Resonances, and Klara Festival. After earning her bachelor’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel under Philippe Graffin, she graduated from the Universität der Künste in Berlin in the violin class of Mark Gothoni and the chamber music class of the Artemis Quartet.
