Alex Robertson, composition (New York, NY), is a composer and conductor based in New York City. A National YoungArts alumnus, he is a composition student of Manuel Sosa at the Juilliard School of Music Pre-College. He has written works for orchestra, chamber, and solo instruments, and his music has been performed by the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, BUTI Young Artists Orchestra, New York Youth Symphony, among others. He was recently chosen as one of two apprentice composers for the National Youth Orchestra of Carnegie Hall. As a conductor, he has coached and conducted ensembles at Kinhaven and the Juilliard Pre-College.
