Ahrim Kim

Ahrim Kim, cello (Seoul, South Korea), was awarded the Arthur Foote Award from the Harvard Musical Association, and has performed at Jordan Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as the cellist of the Klimt Trio. She has received the Cassado Prize at the Gaspar Cassado International Cello Competition in Japan, and top prizes at the Houston Symphony's Ima Hogg Young Artists Competition, Hudson Valley Philharmonic String Competition, Five Towns Music Competition, and Corpus Christi International Competition. She has performed solo and chamber music repertoire at Boston's Symphony Hall, The Juilliard School, Alice Tully Hall, Sarasota Music Festival, and the Salzburg Mozarteum. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Boston Pops, Houston Symphony Orchestra, and Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Ahrim holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in cello performance from New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Laurence Lesser and Natasha Brofsky. Recently she was a visiting principal cellist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and a visiting cellist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Ahrim is currently the principal cellist and artist-in-residence at the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. Past Yellow Barn musician (2010 - 2012)
