Seth Knopp, Artistic Director, has been Artistic Director of Yellow Barn since 1999. He also serves as Artistic Director of the Soundings: New Music at the Nasher, a concert series at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas. He is a founding member of the Naumburg Award-winning Peabody Trio, and serves as a member of the piano and chamber music faculties at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. Seth has recorded on the CRI, Analekta, New World Records, and Artek labels.
Catherine Stephan, Executive Director, started this phase of her Yellow Barn life in 2010. Formerly a cellist and student of David Wells, she spent three summers at Yellow Barn in the mid-90s. Before returning to Putney she was Executive Director of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and its record label, BMOP/sound, from 2000-2010. She holds degrees from Wellesley College (B.A.) and Brandeis University (Artist Diploma).
Stacia Cutler, Production Manager, graduated with a degree in Music Education from Boise State University, and then earned her masters in oboe performance from the University of Maryland. She has taught, performed, and volunteered in a variety of educational settings across the country. Before joining Yellow Barn, Stacia interned with the Music Center at Strathmore, where she worked with the rentals office and operations team to coordinate events between several venues.
Fiona Boyd, General Administrator, graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College with a B.A. in music and French in May 2016. At Wellesley, she studied violin with Gabriela Diaz and spent a semester abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France. In her senior year, Fiona was awarded the Pamela Daniels Fellowship, which allowed her to carry out ethnographic research for her senior honors thesis on old-time music in North Carolina. Previously, Fiona has interned for several arts organizations in the Boston area, including Musicians of the Old Post Road and Boston Lyric Opera.
