Itamar Ringel, viola (Berlin, Germany), is a recent winner of the Partos prize for performance of contemporary Israeli music. He has performed as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, as principal viola in the opera house of Valencia, Spain, and is currently assistant to his former teacher and mentor, Prof. Tabea Zimmermann, at the Hochschule für Musik,"Hanns Eisler", Berlin. Itamar's work is further inspired by his former teachers, Kim Kashkashian, Martha Katz and Lars Anders Tomter, as well as composer György Ligeti, who was the subject of his doctoral dissertation.
