Antonina Styczen

Antonina Styczeń, flute (Bielsko-Biala, Poland), is a First Prize and special prize winner for the Best Performance of a New Work at the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition, a two time Second Prize and William H. Grass Memorial Prize winner at The James Pappoutsakis Memorial Flute Competition winner, and Third Prize winner in the Mid-South Flute Society Young Artist Competition. Her debut album, with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, was nominated for the International Classical Music Award and the Prize of German Critics. She performs in classical, jazz, rock, and improvisatory idioms, and creates recital projects that include electronics, deejay, her own compositions, and works by female composers. A four-time recipient of the prize for extraordinary artistic achievements from the Polish Ministry of Culture & National Heritage, she studied at Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Madrid’s Escuela Superior de Musica de Reina Sofia, and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
