Shengyu Meng

Shengyu Meng, cello (Shanghai, China), is currently studying at the Colburn Music Academy on a Thibaudet Scholarship under Clive Greensmith, cellist of the Tokyo Quartet. Shengyu has attended the Morningside Music Bridge festival as a full-scholarship participant. That same year, she was accepted to Cello Akademie Rutesheim, where she performed with a chamber orchestra for its gala concert. In 2018, she attended Music@Menlo as a full-scholarship recipient. Shengyu won first place in the Aiqinbei National Music Competition, the Young Hope Prize of Osaka International Music Competition, and third prize in the Pasadena Chamber Music Competition. In 2019, Shengyu was featured on From the Top (Show #367) and received a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artists Scholarship. Shengyu enjoys playing chamber music and solo repertoire and wants to be a creative musician.
