Nicholas Méndez Del Valle

Nicholas Méndez Del Valle, piano (Pasadena, CA) is a graduate of the Colburn Music Academy in Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing a BM at the University of Southern California under Daniel Pollack. Also a student of Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Nicholas won the Grand Prize at the Aspen Music Festival Piano Concerto Competition and has performed with the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra. Twice featured on NPR’s From the Top, he is a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award and the Richard D. Colburn Award. He is a winner of the National YoungArts Foundation Competition, won first place at the Mt. St. Mary’s Concerto Competition, and was a finalist at the Music Center Spotlight Awards. He was awarded the Greenberg fellowship to attend the Aspen Music Festival. Nicholas was selected as a Debut Artist for the 2015/2016 L.A. Junior Chamber Music season, and has performed in venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, and Carnegie Hall. Previous Yellow Barn Young Artists Program participant (2013-2016)
