Lindan Burns

Lindan Burns, viola (Williams, OR), is currently pursuing a BM at the Juilliard School, studying with Misha Amory. She is a recipient of the Juilliard, C.V. Starr, Edna M. Rossum, Alderman, and Frank Scholarships. Lindan has participated in masterclasses with the Pacifica Quartet, Faure Quartet, Calder Quartet, Samuel Rhodes, Lawrence Dutton, Steve Tenenbom, Brett Deubner, Nokuthula Ngwenyama and Sheng Li, among others. Past summer festivals include Young Artist’s Program NAC in Ottawa, Castleman Quartet Program, Perlman Music Program and Yellow Barn Young Artists Program. In 2015, she placed 2nd in the Junior Division of the ASTA National Solo Competition. In 2016, she studied with Helen Callus at the Colburn Academy under the Greendale Scholarship. Her viola and bow are generously loaned by the Maestro Foundation. Lindan particularly enjoys teaching music and late night chamber reading sessions. While music is Lindan’s first priority, she enjoys a well-rounded life with hobbies such as; rock climbing, ballroom dancing, hiking/backpacking, horseback riding, exploring museums and listening to news/politics podcasts. Previous Young Artists Program participant (2019)
