Ethan Sandman

Ethan Sandman, cello (Pasadena, CA), was a frequent guest on the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art’s radio broadcast classical music series, Sundays Live. He has also been featured on Israeli Public Radio as part of a live broadcast at the Tel-Aviv Opera House while attending the Keshet Eilon International Mastercourse. Ethan received a grand prize in the Los Angeles Violoncello Society’s annual scholarship audition and has appeared as a soloist with the Colburn Youth Orchestra, the Montecito Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Montgomery and Downey Symphonies. Ethan has participated in masterclasses with Robert DeMaine, Hillel Zori, Gary Hoffman and Lynn Harrell. As a chamber musician, Ethan has received instruction from members of the Guarneri, Tokyo, Emerson, Dover, and Takács Quartets. Ethan served as principal of the Colburn Chamber Orchestra and currently occupies the principal position of the Peabody Concert Orchestra. He was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Kronberg Academy's biennial cello mastercourse, Cello Without Borders, in Germany. He currently studies with Amit Peled at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins.
