WELCOME TO YELLOW BARN’S 41ST SEASON! This year we are proud to present more than 40 public events ranging from extraordinary performances at The Big Barn, a state-of-the-art concert hall in Putney, Vermont, to family concerts in surrounding areas. In keeping with Yellow Barn’s history of lifelong learning, we will bring together audiences, faculty, and participants in a variety of venues, including Open House on campus at The Greenwood School and informal pre-concert events with Yellow Barn musicians. FESTIVAL OVERVIEW

JUNE 18 - JULY 2
YOUNG ARTISTS PROGRAM

This summer twenty-eight exceptional musicians between the ages of thirteen and nineteen will explore a range of repertoire, including new works by young composers created in collaboration with their performer colleagues. YAP musicians will present public events throughout the program, offering some of the most exciting concerts of the summer.

JULY 4 - AUGUST 7
YELLOW BARN

At the heart of the season is the Yellow Barn program. For 41 years, Yellow Barn has gathered together musicians at various stages of their careers, ranging from conservatory students to internationally renowned professionals. For five weeks, Yellow Barn creates an ideal environment for creative exploration and expression, resulting in a series of extraordinary public performances. Each season’s repertoire is unique, spanning a wide range of eras and
genres, offering infinite insights into chamber music—for performers, composers and audiences alike.

FAMILY CONCERTS

Free Family Concerts offer opportunities to experience Yellow Barn in venues and at times that suit the needs of families, and capture the imagination of both children
and adults.

OPEN HOUSE AT YELLOW BARN

Yellow Barn encourages its audience to join in each summer’s journey through a variety of events. On July 24th, Yellow Barn welcomes audience members to experience a day in the life of Yellow Barn musicians, including a masterclass given by violist Kim Kashkashian,
open rehearsals, conversations, and a meal with Yellow Barn musicians on campus at The Greenwood School, culminating in a pre-concert discussion and Yellow Barn concert.

MASTERCLASSES

On Saturday mornings, audience members are invited to sit in The Big Barn with Yellow Barn musicians and witness the interpretive process as Yellow Barn faculty and guests coach participants on a wide range of repertoire.

PRE-CONCERT SUPPERS

On Friday evenings, Yellow Barn musicians join audience members at The Putney Inn for pre-concert suppers, participating in informal conversations about a life with music.

PRE-CONCERT DISCUSSIONS

Pre-concert discussions at the Putney Public Library allow audience members an intimate introduction to Saturday evening concerts given by Yellow Barn musicians.
