Yu-Wen Lu

Yu-Wen Lu, violin (Kaohsiung, Taiwan), has won numerous competitions in Taiwan, including the National Student Music Competition and the Kaohsiung Music Competition. In 2017, she was selected as a semi-finalist of the 2016-17 Mondavi Center Young Artist Competition. She was also selected as a semi-finalist of the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. From 2014-15, Yu-Wen attended the Performing Arts Institute at Wyoming Seminary as a full-scholarship recipient. Yu-Wen made her solo debut with Kaohsiung City Teachers Orchestra at the Kaohsiung Cultural Center. An active chamber musician, Yu-Wen has twice attended the Young Performers Program of Music@Menlo. In 2018, her chamber group, the Erato Quartet, was awarded the bronze prize at the Pasadena Conservatory. That same year, Yu-Wen was one of three violinists featured by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra on its  2018-19 Treasury of Young Musicians Program. Yu-Wen has performed in masterclasses for Krill Trousov, Vadim Repin, and Hilary Hahn. She is currently studying at the Colburn Music Academy with Martin Beaver.
