Lucas Amory

Lucas Amory, piano (New York, NY), was featured in an outreach concert in Alice Tully Hall by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center with Bruce Adolphe, where he appeared as a young pianist who has a dream about Maurice Ravel. Winner of the 2019 Lyra Music Young Artists Competition, he has also received prizes from the Bravura Philarmonic, the 92nd St. Y, and the Stony Brook International Piano competitions. He has performed at the 92nd St. Y, in Weill Recital Hall, and in Alice Tully Hall multiple times. Now a junior at Stuyvesant High School, Lucas is also a student in the Pre-College Division at the Juilliard School, where he studies with Julian Martin. When he isn't practicing, Lucas co-directs the Lower NY Region of the Back to BACH Project and practices conducting. As an eight-year-old, Lucas was published in the New York Times when he sent Anthony Tommasini his personal lists of the ten greatest and his ten favorite composers.
