Loa Cho

Loa Cho, cello (Bowling Green, OH), has been playing for eleven years. She is a student of the Columbia-Juilliard dual degree program, and has performed at various institutes including Cellofest (London), Young Artists Program at Wilfrid Laurier University, the National Cello Institute (Los Angeles), Indiana University's Summer String Academy, and Meadowmount School of Music (New York). Loa was one of the winners of the Cleveland Cello Society Competition, the Walgreens Concerto Competition, and the Toledo Symphony’s Director’s Award. She featured as a soloist with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and was the 2020 recipient of the Toledo Symphony’s Young Musician Award, a three-year scholarship presented by the Stranahan family. She is also an avid chamber music performer, having organized performances at various local venues and been featured in live performances on WGTE and WTOL as a part of Toledo Symphony Youth Ensemble which she started in 2017. She has previously studied under Renee Goubeaux, Renè Schiffer, Horacio Contreras, Alan Smith, Amir Eldan, and Julia Lichten. She currently studies with Natasha Brofsky. In her free time she likes to write, figure skate, and dance.
