Laura Weiner, french horn (Colorado Springs, CO), is an alumna of Carnegie Hall's Ensemble Connect. She has performed with organizations ranging from the New York Philharmonic to Alarm Will Sound, and is a member of chamber ensembles Decoda and Genghis Barbie. She has performed at the Bravo! Vail Festival, Bay Chamber Concerts, Marlboro Music Festival, and Norfolk Chamber Festival. She received her BM summa cum laude from Northwestern University, and her MM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a University Fellowship. She is a teaching artist for the New York Philharmonic in two public schools, and has led songwriting workshops in diverse settings from correctional facilities to shelters. Laura's recent Decoda project that pairs teenagers with NYPD officers to create songs received national news attention.
