Joshua Weinfeld

Joshua Weinfeld, percussion (New York, NY), is currently pursuing his B.M. in percussion performance at Vanderbilt University, where he studies under the tutelage of Ji Hye Jung, W. Lee Vinson, and Dr. Marc Widenhofer. Joshua was born and raised in New York City, where he attended Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and was the recipient of the Milton Schlesinger Memorial Percussion Award in 2017. At Vanderbilt, Joshua is a member of the Vanderbilt Percussion Group, the Blair Big Band, and many other performance groups. He has been featured to perform three times as a part of the Blair School of Music Student Showcase and has participated in masterclasses with artists such as Robert Van Sice, Michael League, Michael Burritt, Alejandro Viñao, and Edgar Meyer. In 2020, Joshua was awarded first place at the Tennessee Collegiate Solo Percussion Competition in both the keyboard and snare drum divisions. In 2021, Joshua co-founded an audio and video recording business, Continuous Motion Productions, LLC. Joshua is an owner and managing member of the company, where he specializes in audio recording and editing. Previous Young Artists Program participant (2018)
