Jason Moon

Jason Moon, violin (Cupertino, CA), hails from the heart of Silicon Valley and is a recent graduate of the Menlo School. He is currently under the tutelage of Wei He at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Program. As a Bay Area musician, he has served as concertmaster of the Menlo School Chamber Orchestra for two years and has recently completed his fourth and final season as first violinist of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. Jason has won numerous competitions in his area, including the Silicon Valley Youth Music Competition, Peninsula Symphony Young Musicians’ Competition, and SFSYO Concerto Competition, performing as a soloist with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony, among others. He has worked with renowned artists such as Miriam Fried, Ilya Kaler, Lucie Robert, and Haik Kazazyan. As a chamber musician, Jason has participated in the SFCM Pre-College and Susan Bates’ Young Chamber Musicians program, working with the Borromeo, Escher, and Calidore String Quartets. In previous summers, he has attended the Meadowmount School of Music, Northwestern University Summer Violin Institute, Music@Menlo, and toured Europe with the SFSYO. Jason actively participates in several non-profit music organizations, coordinating frequent benefit concerts and teaching students with special educational needs. He will continue his studies this fall at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Li Lin.
