Hallie Smith, composer (Simsbury, CT), began her musical studies on the violin and has performed with youth orchestras in the Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, and Boston Symphony Hall.  She attended a composition workshop at Oberlin Conservatory in 2012 and was awarded second place in the 2013 MuSE Young Composer’s competition. She continues her composition studies this year at the Boston Conservatory. Aside from music, Hallie enjoys swimming, running, reading, and petting dogs and cats.
