Grant Houston

Grant Houston, violin (Kansas City, MO), has performed at the Moritzburg Festival Academy in Germany, the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, and the Schlern International Music Festival in Italy. His newly-formed piano trio, Trio Gaia, was a recent finalist and laureate of the 2019 Plowman Chamber Music Competition. A 2018-19 New England Conservatory Community Partnerships Fellow, Grant has brought unique and educational recital programs of both solo and chamber music to schools, senior homes, and other community settings. Grant has performed for Hilary Hahn, Rachel Barton Pine, Martin Beaver, Almita and Roland Vamos, and Stefan Jackiw, and has received chamber music coaching from members of the Brentano String Quartet, St. Lawrence String Quartet, Prazak String Quartet, Miami String Quartet, and Quartet San Francisco. As an undergraduate student at New England Conservatory in Boston, Grant is a student of Ayano Ninomiya. Previous Yellow Barn Young Artists Musician participant (2018)
