Claire Thaler

Claire Thaler, violin (Tallahassee, FL), is currently pursuing her B.M. at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University under Dr. Carolyn Huebl. In high school, she was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra at Florida State University, where she studied with Corinne Stillwell. Claire has participated in the Castleman Quartet Program, Madeline Island Chamber Music, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and LyricaFest. She has performed in masterclasses for Ayano Ninomiya, Laurie Smukler, Almita and Roland Vamos, and the Carpe Diem String Quartet. She performed with the FMEA All-State Orchestras for five consecutive years, was invited to perform in side-by-side concerts with the New World Symphony, and was a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar. She was a winner of the Blair School of Music Concerto Competition and received First Prize in the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Claire was chosen as a recipient of an Education Grant from the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation and was awarded a Douglas C. Cox violin scholarship for his Opus 908 "Nachez" Strad model from 2016.
