Charles Overton

Charles Overton, harp (Glen Allen, VA), moved to Boston in 2012 to attend the Berklee College of Music, where he was the first harpist to be accepted to Berklee’s Global Jazz Institute. His festival appearances include the Pacific Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and the Castleton Festival. As a jazz musician he has performed abroad at the Harpes au Max festival in Ancenis, among others, while frequenting local jazz series like Jazz at Indian Hill, and Mandorla Music’s Dot Jazz Series. As a classical musician, he appears frequently with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Walden Chamber Players, Collage New Music, and the Marlboro Music Festival. His long-time collaborators include Plamen Karadonev, Julian Loida, and Peter Barnick, and is currently writing and arranging music for a new project. Previous Yellow Barn residency artist (2020)
