Cameron Akioka

Cameron Akioka, piano (Palo Alto, CA), graduated from Palo Alto High School and currently studies with Olya Katsman. She was featured in an episode of NPR's From the Top, and inducted into the Young Artist Guild of the Music Teachers' Association of California. She has received first prize in the Pacific Musical Society Competition, was a silver medalist at the San Jose International Piano Competition, was a winner in the Young Pianist's Beethoven Competition, and was awarded a full scholarship from the National Chopin Scholarship Foundation. She has been named a winner in the Sturm-Page Piano Scholarship, Menuhin-Dowling Young Artist Competition, and the Ross McKee Competition, and won first place in the State California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) Concerto Competition, in the State Solo Competition for CAPMT, and at the State MTAC Piano Solo Competition. Cameron has performed for three seasons with the Young Chamber Musicians of Burlingame, and her ensemble Trio Sonoro, won second place at the Galante Competition. She attended California Summer Music, Music@Menlo, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
