Alice Chenyang Xu

Alice Chenyang Xu, piano (Chengdu, China), has performed at Chicago's Orchestra Hall, the Myra Heiss Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago Auditorium Theatre, Corbett Auditorium in Cincinnati, Leipzig Hochshule Musik Hall, and New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. She has collaborated with the Chicago Chamber Musicians (CCM), and her performances have been broadcasted on WFMT classical radio. Most recently, Alice performed with the Borromeo String Quartet in NEC’s Jordan Hall. Alice is a recipient of the Dorothy Hinton-Congleton Memorial Presidential Scholarship, second prize-winner of the 10th Missouri Southern International Piano Competition, third prize-winner of the 2nd Seiler International Piano Competition in Germany, and the recipient of a Yamaha Scholarship. Alice received her BM from The Curtis Institute of Music and Roosevelt University, where she studied with Seymour Lipkin, Meng-Chieh Liu, and Winston Choi. Alice received her MM from NEC under Wha-Kyung Byun, and is currently pursuing her DMA at NEC with Vivian Weilerstein. Alice teaches at the Tufts University Community Music Program.
