Yellow Barn is sorry to announce that we have to postpone our Amateur Chamber Music Workshop, which had been scheduled for May 7-10, 2010. We are also canceling the May 6, 2010 public performance. We very much still want to make this idea work in the very near future. Please visit our website regularly for updates on the future development of the Workshop.

Inaugural Spring Amateur Chamber Music Workshop

May 7-9, 2010

During Yellow Barn festival concerts, audiences have embraced an often-unusual journey through works, new to many, and performances that inspire new ways of listening. Audience members who play chamber music themselves often react to their Yellow Barn concert experience by expressing the desire to work with Yellow Barn musicians in order to gain insight into the interpretive process and apply it to their own music-making.

Yellow Barn's very first Chamber Music Workshop for Amateurs will be held from May 7th-9th, 2010. in Putney, Vermont. Participants will rehearse contrasting repertoire, attend workshops and performance classes, and attend a concert by Yellow Barn faculty. Participants will also have opportunities for short individual lessons and for participation in a reading session with a faculty member, and to attend recitals by faculty members.

The schedule also leaves free time for participants to enjoy local attractions such as a visit to Naulakha, Rudyard Kipling's house, a hike up the Black Mountain Trail or a visit to the Grafton Cheese factory, Southern Vermont's local cheese producers. You will also be able to enjoy beautiful Vermont at the height of spring. We look forward to welcoming you to our inaugural program.
